Plant Manager

JOB PURPOSE:
Under limited direction, the Plant Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on the plant floor which includes managing schedules, overseeing daily operating reports, and increasing production and productivity. This is accomplished by providing leadership, developing strategic plans and delegating to key supervisors and team leads when necessary.
The Plant Manager is also accountable for all aspects of plant performance, and ensures that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner consistent with quality requirements and that safety measures are followed and enforced.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct and manage plant daily operations for production, maintenance, and shipping/receiving. Implement strategies in alignment with business initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
• Provide direction, development and leadership to production supervisors and team leaders.
• Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives, including internal training and development programs (Muza University).
• In collaboration with the Director of Customer Solutions and the Waste Elimination team, drive kaizen events and collect and analyze data to identify waste throughout all production areas.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets as they relate to facility and production operation.
• Lead and manage the production team to achieve all key performance metrics, including safety (OIR), quality (PPM), productivity, and on-time delivery (OTD).
• Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, overtime, premium freight, repair expenses, wages and salaries.
• Prepare capital expense requisitions and justifications/ROI when needed.
• Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment through preventive maintenance programs; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
• Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness (5S) among plant personnel.
• Assure ongoing compliance to customer requirements and standards (ISO, UL, etc).


MARGINAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, conferences, seminars; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional affiliations.
• May perform other duties as required or necessary.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): interview, hire and train new employees; organize and communicate workflow, performance goals and deadlines; monitor employee productivity and provide constructive; manage employee performance including promotions, corrective actions and terminations; promptly address complaints and resolve problems.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in business management, business or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ previous experience as a plant manager, supervisor, or related position.
• In-depth knowledge of industry, safety, quality, productivity, and inventory processes.
• Excellent leadership, conflict-resolution, decision-making abilities, team building and management skills. Ability to collaborate, delegate, encourage, mentor and lead.
• Experience participating in or leading Lean/Continuous Improvement processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills within all levels of the organization, including suppliers and customers.
• Able to multi-task, prioritize and effectively manage time pressures/constraints and stress that can change frequently.
• Self-motivated and self-directed.
• Ability to maintain the integrity of highly confidential information.

2nd shift Fabrication Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in fabrication and assembly of sheet metal products. Coordinate activities of production departments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Enforces safe work practice and safety regulations
• Oversees the production schedule and works with team to see that the schedule is managed and followed
• Root cause analysis on part and/or machine issues
• Responsible for resolving operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
• Inspect work in progress and finished products
• Audits processes to ensure ISO compliance
• Develop standard procedures
• Works with team to set short term and long term goals
• Sets and monitors expectations for team members
• Enforces company policies
• Creates and issue performance reviews
• Monitor employee training and mentoring
• Addressing employee concerns and/or grievances
• Communicates and coordinates with team leads and other supervisors regarding production schedules and shop issues
• Uses data and reporting to analyze trends of production metrics
• Partnering in the onboarding of new employees
• Create and maintain a positive working environment
• Resolving employee conflicts in accordance with the policy and procedural manual
• Oversee the communication between team leads and departments to ensure production goals are met, and workflow is constant and consistent
• Analyze and recognize potential for lean manufacturing and waste reduction
• Work with maintenance supervisor on scheduling repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure due dates are met.

Description:
JOB PURPOSE:

Sets up and operates power brake to bend, notch, punch, form rolls, arc, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes to blueprint or specifications by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Selects, installs, and aligns tooling in accordance with the set up instructions
• Use CNC controls to bend flat blank in accordance with the bend instructions
• Use CNC controls to correct the bend angles and flange lengths to make conforming product
• Read and interpret blue prints
• Uses various gauges to confirm the piece is conforming to customer specifications
• Confirms and controls quality through a series of part checks
• Keep a neat organized work station
• Clean and examine machine and tooling to ensure optimal performance
• Prepare product to meet all shipping standards
• Perform all duties with safety as the number one priority

Manual Welder

Shift:

2nd shift Monday – Thursday 4:45pm – 2:45am

  • Blueprint reading and measuring equipment experience required

Description:
General Purpose:
Perform set up and all position welding on a diversified line of standard weldments and structures in accordance with alignment, dimensional, and general inspection requirements.

Main Job Responsibilities
• Read blueprints to determine specific placement of welds
• Bolts, clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position of welding
• Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc or gas welding equipment
• Following SOP
• Some grinding and finishing work
• Alerts supervisor of any quality issues
• Maintains accurate count of parts produced

Paint Line Help/Assembly

Qualifications: -High school diploma required or GED – Blue Print and measuring tool experience -Some manufacturing experience preferred

Description:
Responsible to inspect, hang on parts, masking, coordination of assembly jobs when needed, take off and packaging of finished painted products.
